Former Maharashtra minister and a leading figure in the cooperative movement, Babasaheb Kedar, died at his Bajaj Nagar residence in Nagpur on Friday after a prolonged illness. He was 85.

Born on November 15, 1928, in Patangsaongi, Nagpur, Babasaheb began his political career as a zilla parishad member. He later served as a rural development minister in the Sudhakarao Naik ministry.
The veteran politician actively worked towards promoting cooperative industries in Vidarbha region.He was suffering from several illnesses, including severe Parkinson and fungal oesophagitis. His last rites will be performed on Saturday.
Many leaders, including Nitin Gadkari lamented his demise.
