The state government on Thursday decided to continue the ban on the film 'Deshdrohi', Deputy Chief Minister RR Patil said in Mumbai.

Kamal Khan producer of 'Deshdrohi', a film on the plight of a north Indian migrant, had met Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Chitkala Zutshi and Home Secretary Anna Dani on November 18, seeking to set aside the ban.

Khan had earlier moved the Bombay High Court against the ban. High Court refused to interfere with the ban, but asked government to give him a hearing and take a decision afresh.
Mumbai police top officials who saw the film, had earlier suggested that screening of the film be suspended as it may worsen the law and order situation in the backdrop of Raj Thackeray-led anti-north Indian campaign.
