The Congress in Himachal Pradesh on Friday alleged financial irregularities in the Vivekananda Medical Research Trust, Palampur, and demanded a high level inquiry into it.
Since the funds for the trust were raised from the public, people had the right to know how the money had been spent, party spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore told reporters.
He accused Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee of making contradictory statements in interviews with different news channels to confuse the people and said it was strange that his advise to party leaders to maintain decorum in campaigning was not being heeded.
President of the state unit of NSUI Kuldeep Singh Pathania accused former BJP MPs of not raising the issues pertaining to the state effectively in parliament and serving their own interests.
The party has decided to distribute pamphlets among the voters to expose and counter the "feel good" factor of the NDA, they said.
