CPI holds demo against Bush visit

THE DISTRICT unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) staged demonstration against the India visit of US President George Bush and burnt his effigy at Jawahar Chowk here today.

THE DISTRICT unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) staged demonstration against the India visit of US President George Bush and burnt his effigy at Jawahar Chowk here today.

Later a joint protest rally was also taken out in which members of CPI, CPI (M) and Samajwadi Party participated. According to a release, State Secretary of CPI, Mahendra Vajpayee, State Secretary of CPI (M), Bahadur Singh Dhakad and Samajwadi Party State president Gauri Yadav burnt the effigy of George Bush.

Later, members of CPI staged protests in various parts of the City and shouted anti-Bush and anti-American slogans. CPI district wing secretary Shailendra Kumar Shaili led the protest march.

CPI leaders Habib, Roopsingh Chouhan, Rashid Khan, Hemant Agrawal, Ramesh Sahu, Shiv Shankar, Mehfuz Altamush, Habib Qureshi, Milli Kausil and several other party workers participated in the march.
