Every night is Friday night at T.G.I Friday’s. The party ambience goes well with cocktails to die for and those huge American size portions. As one enters their new branch at the MGF Metropolitan Mall, Gurgaon, located ironically, opposite Ruby Tuesday’s, we are greeted with good old friendly Friday’s service.
The big question mark? What what would they do to fill up the tables considering that there are some 70 restaurants on this mall strip? To that T.G.I Friday’s Asit Sharma says, “We have a select clientele and have now introduced quick lunch and promotional menus too.”
Every three months this restaurant introduces something new and different. And this time it is the wild and mild grille that is an exotic blend of sweet and spicy flavours. “We keep a check on the hottest selling dish and at the end of it all, we include it in the main menu,” announces Sharma.
We began with a platter that has a bit of everything. Right from chicken wings, to potato skins (their two bestsellers) among others, which we savoured with a mocktail (the branch is yet to receive their liquor licence).
Before we could relish the grilled dishes, we were served with small balls (filled with cheese and small bits of jalapenos) aptly called dynamites. At this point, the quick and efficient service at this place deserves a mention before we go onto the main course, which, we feel, is just perfect for two voracious people.
We had the chilli-grilled chicken breast (succulent breast of chicken, liberally drenched in exotic rum/chilli marinade and served on a bed of coconut rice) served with a sweet mango and tomato dip. One should have a garguntan appetite to relish their desserts after the main course. But if you don’t, trust us, you would be missing out on something!
