Congress legislator KM Krishnamurthy has died following prolonged illness, family sources said on Sunday.

Krishnamurthy, 61, representing Kadur Assembly seat in Chickmagalur district, was a four-time MLA.
He leaves behind wife, two sons and two daughters.

Krishnamurthy, who won consecutively from Kadur since 1994, lost his battle to cancer and breathed his last in a private hospital in Bangalore Saturday night.
Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa condoled the death.
"He was a popular leader always working for people of his constituency. In his death, the state has lost an active leader," the chief minister said.
