Ganguly, who preferred not to bowl, did some stretching and running exercise separately under the watchful eyes of team physio Andrew Leipus.

Starting with a 20-minute warm up session by playing volley ball, the Indian cricketers, led by Ganguly, underwent a three-hour long practice at the Gardens amidst loud cheers from the crowd, who thronged the stadium in large numbers for the Big Match on the morrow.

The Indian think tank - Ganguly, his deputy Rahul Dravid, little master Sachin Tendulkar and coach John Wright - later had a close look at the wicket. The skipper also tested the bounce of the pitch.

Earlier, the Australian cricket team had a light practice session during morning hours.

However, the practice on the day before the final being optional, a number of Aussie stars preferred to skip the session.
