Godhra carnage: Another accused arrested

Biryani, who has been absconding since the incident, was arrested after police got to know that he was hiding in a certain locality.

An accused in the Sabarmati Express carnage case was on Thursday arrested from Godhra town.

"The arrested person was identified as Sayed Abdul Biryani, who is alleged to be one of the core group members that torched the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002 in Godhra," the sources said.

Biryani, who has been absconding since the incident, was arrested after police got to know that he was hiding in a certain locality.

Nearly 100 people have been arrested in connection with the case so far, the sources added.
