Govt seeks Hurriyat's support to resolve Kashmir issue

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appealed to all political parties, including the Hurriyat Conference, to come forward for resolving the Kashmir issue.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appealed to all political parties, including the Hurriyat Conference, to come forward for resolving the Kashmir issue.

Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said: "Gun is no solution for any problem. Negotiations have always proved fruitful to solve the issues and political parties including Hurriyat Conference should come forward and play their role in resolving the issue."

Addressing a public meeting at Behrampora, 55 kms from Srinagar in Baramulla district on Sunday, he said some political parties were trying to take advantage of incidents like killing of an infant of Baramulla during protests.

An 11-day-old ailing baby boy, who was being rushed to hospital in a mini-bus died after protesters stopped the vehicle and roughed up its passengers early last week. Four persons were arrested in this connection.
