Hoshiarpur-born actor Monica Bedi seems to have moved on in life and appears to be more confident and vibrant as a person. The actress who made headlines for her alleged involvement with underworld don Abu Salem and even served a jail sentence, is on a completely new tangent after a stint in reality television shows Big Boss and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa followed by Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saraswati Chandra on Star Plus.
When asked about Salem’s impending marriage to a 26-year-old woman from Mumbra in Thane district in Maharashtra, Monica said, “I am happy for him. Why would I have anything new to say? I have nothing to do with him and to each their own. It’s his call and that’s absolutely fine.”
On previous occasions, Monica has always denied that she was the second wife of the underworld don and prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Claiming to be in a long livein relationship with him instead, Monica was also arrested in Lisbon, Portugal, along with Salem following an Interpol red corner alert notice in 2003. Salem and Monica were both extradited to India from Portugal after a long legal battle in November 2005.
