Mikhail Bora, the son of Indrani Mukerjea from an earlier relationship, said on Wednesday he knew why his sister, Sheena Bora, was killed but he would spill the beans after the probe by Mumbai police got over.

Mikhail, 25, is the younger brother of Sheena who was 24 when she was murdered in 2012. Police say her body was dumped in Maharashtra’s Raigad district in 2012.

Indrani, former STAR India CEO Peter Mukerjea’s wife, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of murdering her daughter.

Mikhail lives with his ailing maternal grandparents — octogenarian businessman Upendra Kumar Bora and his wife Durga Rani Bora — at their house in Guwahati’s Sundarpur locality.

Details about Sheena and Mikhail’s father are sketchy. Neighbours and a family insider said Indrani’s children are from Siddhartha Das, with whom she had a relationship while studying at Lady Keane College in Meghalaya’s capital Shillong in the early 1980s.

Indrani – then known as Pari – was sent to pursue higher education in Shillong as a long anti-foreigner agitation had affected academic activities in Assam.
