The state was plunged into a turmoil after Soren, the JMM supremo, who was trying to enter the assembly, was defeated in a bypoll and stepped down as chief minister.
Soren later named party MLA Champai Soren as his successor, which was rejected by his allies Congress, RJD and some independent MLAs, which provide crucial support to the Soren ministry.
Main opposition NDA and other political parties have demanded fresh elections.
