It might come as a surprise to many but the fact is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut feature Khamoshi - the Musical about a young girl Annie and her deaf-mute parents, is the one that has brought in the maximum moolah from abroad till date. Says Vikas Sahni, of Eros International - pioneers in international distribution who still command 70 per cent of the Indian films that are sold abroad, "Salman Khan is the biggest draw among NRIs after Shah Rukh Khan. Indians there usually prefer soft, romantic mushy stuff."
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has since made two other huge blockbusters, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas - the latter was made at a whopping Rs. 50 crores.
