The report The big switch-off (March 27) was indeed a laudable initiative. At a time when the earth’s environment is being threatened by various types of pollution, it is necessary for us to come forward and make an effort to save the planet for our own benefit. Environmental pollution and energy crisis pose great risk to our planet, and will turn worse if positive steps such as the earth hour initiative are not taken immediately. The only way to battle climate change is by spreading awareness and educating the masses about its effects on our lives.
