On October 13, deputy commissioner PC Meena had issued an order banning the use of fire crackers and explosives between 10pm and 6am.

But the directive is being flouted openly and many residents do not know where to lodge a complaint. “I know that the order is being violated. We appeal to people to come forward and lodge a complaint,’ Meena said, adding, “If a resident faces tough time owing to neighbours bursting crackers, he can call the PCR on 100 or dial 0124-2320100. Immediate action will be taken."

“If the administration has asked us to do something, why can't we follow its order. In case of an untoward incident, those violating the directive would take no time in blaming the authorities,” said PD Pahuja, general secretary, Sector 14 RWA.
