MLA?s sons on rampage

The youths also fired in the air with prohibited bore firearms causing panic in the area. The cops and the villagers later chased and caught the troublemakers and the police arrested nine of them, including the MLA?s sons. A .9 mm pistol and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the youths.

Reprimand for eveteasing irks ‘high-profile’ brothers

THE TWO sons of BJP MLA Suresh Tiwari, accompanied by over a dozen armed aides, created ruckus at Dream Valley Resort on Sultanpur Road and assaulted the staff and visitors when the latter objected to eve-teasing by the duo.

The youths also fired in the air with prohibited bore firearms causing panic in the area. The cops and the villagers later chased and caught the troublemakers and the police arrested nine of them, including the MLA’s sons. A .9 mm pistol and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the youths.

The incident took place in the afternoon when some families came to visit the resort in Dream Valley resorts in Gosainganj. They complained to the resort caretaker Yogesh Singh about the boys indulging in eve-teasing.

Singh immediately went to the group of five youths moving around in an inebriated state. He asked them for mandatory entry tickets required to visit the resort. The question irritated the youths and they started hurling expletives at Singh. Meanwhile, other staff members and the male members from the families who had been subjected to verbal abuse, persons from the affected families too, joined Singh in objecting to the youths’ behaviour.

About half-an-hour later, the same group of youths accompanied by over a dozen armed associates stormed into the resort and started ransacking the place. The hooligans later, pounced upon caretaker Singh and other staff members and assaulted them brutally.

The scene of merrymaking at the resort turned panicky as all the visitors started screaming for help running helter-skelter. The armed youths later opened indiscriminate fire in the air creating terror among the visitors.

Meanwhile, hearing screams, the residents of nearby Noorpur village and following information the local police rushed to the resort. Seeing a mob of local residents and the cops, the hooligans ran away from the scene.

The cops and the villagers chased the youths and caught nine of them near the Gosainganj canal. Irate residents thrashed the youths but the cops rescued them and took them to the police station.

The youths were later, identified as Raghvendra Tiwari and Shivendra Tiwari, sons of BJP MLA from Cantonment area, Suresh Tiwari, and their cousins, Javendra Tiwari, Akhilesh Tiwari, Himanshu Tiwari, and their associates Ashish Mishra, Deep Anand and Rituraj Shukla, all residents of Kailashpuri Alambagh.

Another associate identified him as Anitesh Pandey of Rajajipuram.

Singh later, lodged an FIR against the youths for creating ruckus, attempt to murder, assault and issuing life threats.

Kin of the accused started applying their influence to get the latter released from the police station. The cops though did not succumb to the pressure.

The accused, however, were being given VIP treatment in police custody.
