Maya, wife of Ranjeet Chandravanshi, was admitted to Badnagar government hospital on Wednesday. She was operated upon by surgical specialist Dr Vinita Khatod for LTT. However, Maya started bleeding because of blood vessel haemorrhage.

Dr Khatod immediately took her to Ujjain district hospital where a team of doctors operated upon her for four hours. She has been kept under observation in an intensive care unit (ICU).

Health director Dr KL Sahu, in-charge civil surgeon Dr DPS Gaharwar and chief medical and health officer Dr Ashok Yadav reached the hospital and took stock of the situation.

Doctors who were treating Maya said she would remain under observation for the next 48 hours. They also said that her condition is stable.

On the other hand, Ranjeet accused the doctor of negligence at Badnagar, claiming that Dr Khatod was talking with one of the nurses present inside the operation theatre and that led to the complication.

However, Dr Khatod refuted the allegations, saying, "We did not do this intentionally. Maya started jumping on the stretcher during operation and it might be possible that we cut her blood vein instead of fallopian tube."
