"NIDM has not yet sent its papers required for signing of the MoU. The planning wing of the Noida authority believes most builders have huge reputations to protect and, thus, most safety measures are adhered to by default," said Tribhuwan Singh, chief town planner, Noida.

In December, the NIDM, after having prepared a 200-page report on Noida and Greater Noida, made a presentation before senior authority officials. "We're doing our bit. We have issued instructions to form groups of RWA representatives for awareness. Builders will be briefed to adhere to prescribed norms," said a senior official of the Noida authority.
