Pak scribe gets CNN Journalist of the Year Award '07

Rubab Karrar, a scribe with a Pakistani magazine, has bagged the CNN Journalist of the Year Award 2007.

The journalist with 'The Herald', published from Karachi, got the award for her story "Inside the Mosque".

The award has been instituted in celebration of the 60th year of Independence of both India and Pakistan.

Planman Media's Sujan Singh got the award for Young Photo Journalist Award while Shahbaz Khan of PTI was adjudged the runner-up for his series of photographs on "police cover-up of the prime accused of Noida serial killings".

Sujan Singh got the award for his photos on "Police come to the culprits' rescue".

Priyanka Pathak Narayan of 'Mint' won the CNN Young Journalist of the year in the print online category for her 'Sethusamudram Series'. Ananya Sengupta of 'The Telegraph', Mumbai, for her story "Heartbreak House" is the runner up in this category.

Anchal Vohra of NDTV 24X7, New Delhi, was the winner in the TV journalism category. Her story "Abuse in Ghaziabad Ashram" won her the award. Maryiam Pervaiz from Dawn News, Pakistan, for her story "Chained people" has been adjudged the runner-up in this category.

Kusum Devi from Delhi won the Citizen Journalist Award for her audio visual report on the "Usage of RTI Act for children's admission to public school".
