Pawaiya to renounce food, bed till BJP wins

The Election Commission is likely to notify soon the Lok Sabha by-election schedule for the Gwalior seat falling vacant following ‘cash for query’ sting operation and subsequent expulsion of Congress MP Ramsevak Singh from Parliament.
Singh was found guilty by the parliamentary committee probing the charges. However, Singh has refuted charges and moved the court against his expulsion.
Talking to reporters today at Hanuman Temple, Pawaiya said it did not matter to him as to who will contest on the party ticket but the BJP victory in this by-election was important. Irrespective of time whether it was two months from now or two years, he will adhere to his pledge. Barring his official tours outside the City, he will not take food-grains, use bed and mattress during nights, and will walk barefoot, Pawaiya added.
He said that though the party high command selected the candidates, it were the party workers who ensured victory. Ram Janmabhumi Nyas president Mahant Nritya Gopaldas Maharaj had also been apprised of his intention and he had taken due permission from Mahantji, Pawaiya added.
