Polio campaign to kick off on Jan 18

In order to make arrangements for the implementation of pulse polio immunisation campaign 'keeping India free of polio', assistant commissioner Anshul Garg convened a meeting of district task force members at Kathua on Monday.

In order to make arrangements for the implementation of pulse polio immunisation campaign 'keeping India free of polio', assistant commissioner Anshul Garg convened a meeting of district task force members at Kathua on Monday.

The meeting was attended was Kathua's chief medical officer, medical superintendent, child development project officer, block medical officer besides the chief education officer.

The medical superintendent of the district hospital listed the finer aspects of the micro plan of intensified pulse polio immunisation programme which is to be carried out in two phases in the district.

The first phase will take place on January 18 and the second phase will be held on February 22 in which all the children in the age group 0 -5 years will be given two drops of oral polio vaccine.

Radio jingles and drum beating will be used for successful implementation of the programme in rural and urban areas of the district.
