The agency had last month sought permission from the court to take Indrani’s voice samples. The application had been pending over her consent for more than a week since she was unwell.

The agency had told the court that during the investigation, they found some conversations in female voice and to verify the same, they needed Indrani’s voice sample.

After the receipt of the application, the magistrate court had issued the production warrant for Indrani on October 26, directing jail authorities to produce her on October 27. However, as she was hospitalised due to high fever, she was not produced before court.

The court subsequently asked Indrani’s lawyer to consult her and inform it by Tuesday.

After her consent, the magistrate court has allowed the CBI to take Indrani’s voice samples in jail premises as per the procedure in the jail manual.
