A unique panchayat, which concluded in this citadel town today, witnessed participation by once dreaded bandits Lokman Dixit alias Lukka Pandit, Mohar Singh, Pancham Singh, Sarusingh and about 15 other dacoits. The ‘organisation’ would have Dixit as chairman and Mohar as his deputy.

The Ekta Parishad’s Rakesh Dixit and several ex-bandits were drafted as members of the organisation that demanded implementation of Chambal rehabilitation schemes, which were formulated in 1972 but were presently on the backburner, besides other schemes.

The former dacoits planned to meet CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. “Bandits Dayaram and Rambabu Gadaria wish to surrender but the government only wants to neutralise them,” alleged Dixit.
