Indore: I-T raids at MP Nutrition Food, Srikrishna Devcon Limited

The income tax department raided on Tuesday 35 places of MP Nutrition Food, a nutritious meal manufacturer, and Srikrishna Devcon Limited, a real estate company, on complaints of tax evasion.

MP Nutrition Food supplies ‘dalia’ and other food packets to anganwadis throughout the state. SKDL has several real estate projects but is best known for promoting Emerald Greens in Harniyakheri and Kishanganj where they are selling plots.

An income tax official said they believe that there are cross holdings between these two companies and their dozen-odd associate firms.

Apart from 26 places in Indore, including one in Orbit Mall, a team of 100 officials and 60 policemen raided five places in Bhopal and four in Mumbai. “It is the initial stage of the raid and we are still in the process of collecting and collating documents that we have found during the raid. The raid will continue for a day or two,” the official said.
