Indoreans will soon get their own Haj House, announced Haj committee chairman Inayat Husain Qureshi at a press conference in the city on Sunday.
Once the Haj House begins operations in 2016, Qureshi said efforts will be made to push the government for another Haj House in Indore.
"Every year, we receive a lot of requests from pilgrims belonging to the Indore-Ujjain region, so construction of a Haj House is crucial," said Husain.
A proposal for the same will be forwarded to the chief minister after September 15. Survey of land and other major facilities will be done through inputs from the district administration and the government, he added.
"We are on the lookout for the construction of a structure which is closer to the airport and at the same time convenient for all the pilgrims," said Qureshi.
According to the committee, around 3,000 pilgrims from the state, including a centre in Nagpur, will be travelling for Haj this year.
Between August 31 and September 5, around 1,650 pilgrims from Indore will leave for Haj on daily flights, following which between September 6 and 10, 1,350 pilgrims will be travelling from Bhopal. The remaining will board their flights from Nagpur between September 11 and 15.
In order to minimise problems during the trip, the committee imparted training to all pilgrims. "Every year, a number of people participate in Haj and majority of them are travelling for the first time. Just to ensure that they do not face any troubles, a prep-up is given to them. Once the Haj House is made (in Indore), similar training will be imparted here," Qureshi said.
