The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday named Indore’s Holkar Stadium as the venue for the third and final Test between India and New Zealand to be played in October, bringing cheers among the city’s cricket lovers.

According to Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), Indore Holkar Stadium which got Test status venue in the November last year will host maiden Test from October 8.
MPCA secretary Milind Kanmadikar told Hindustan Times: “The Board has approached MPCA and we had accepted to host third test between October 8 and 12 instead of second match from September 30.”
Kanmadikar said: “The preparations are in full swing for hosting the test. As far as pitch and ground are concerned, we are up to the mark.”
Earlier, the Indian board named Indore as the venue for the second test and Kolkata for the third test but the schedule was reworked to accommodate Durga Puja festivities in West Bengal.
Kanpur will host the first Test from September 22.
