MPCA president Sanjay Jagdale will chair the meeting at Holkar Stadium in Indore. All 231 individual lifetime members and 40 institutional members are expected to attend the meeting.

A senior office bearer on condition of anonymity said discussions will figure on annual report and budget. On possibility of elections, he said the final call will be taken during the annual general meeting only.

Talks about the MPCA polls did the rounds after the high court recently rejected a plea seeking stay on the elections. The high court directed MPCA to submit its reply on the petition seeking implementation of the Justice Lodha Committee’s recommendation on reforms.

BCCI former secretary Sanjay Jagdale was unanimously elected as president and Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia the chairman at the previous annual general meeting in 2014. The members were elected unopposed after the then urban administration and development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya decided not to contest the polls.

In 2014, BCCI former secretary Sanjay Jagdale was unanimously elected as president, while Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia became chairman.

In 2012, Scindia, who has been president since 2006, beat Vijayvargiya by 77 votes. Scindia got 150 votes of the 232 votes polled. Vijayvargiya could manage only 73.

In 2010, Scindia got 142 of the 216 votes polled while Vijayvargiya polled 72.

Not only Scindia, but the whole panel-led by Congress leader made a clean sweep by bagging all the office-bearers’ as well as managing committee berths in 2012 and 2010. Vijayvargiya’s panel failed to get even a single seat.
