In an effort to woo youngsters ahead of the elections, state Congress president Sachin Pilot on Tuesday promised a monthly allowance of Rs 3,500 to unemployed educated persons in the state.
Addressing the office-bearers of Youth Congress (YC) after launching the ‘Employment Form’ under the Yuva Shakti programme by IYC at the state Congress office, he said when the party forms the government in Rajasthan, youngsters should feel their participation.
Assembly elections in Rajasthan are due later this year.
“To fulfil the needs and expectations of youngsters, there will be no dearth of resources. An atmosphere will be provided where there will be opportunities, quality education and loans on easy terms. Details of educated unemployed will be gathered and after forming the government, we will provide Rs 3500 assistance to them. The party will include this in the election manifesto,” said Pilot.
“Our priority is to provide quality education and employment based on education,” Pilot added.
Hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he said the Employment Forum, started by the Youth Congress, is the need of the hour. In Rajasthan, the BJP has cheated the people by promising 15 lakh jobs. “It is unfortunate that chief minister Vasundhara Raje even lied in front of the Prime Minister that the promise of 15 lakh jobs has been fulfilled. The government has provided skill training to 1.5-2lakh people; claim of 15 lakh job is false,” he said.

{{/usCountry}}He said the Resurgent Rajasthan Summit of the government has proved to be a flop show and failed to bring in investment. In the absence of investment, there cannot be jobs, he added. “Raje’s tenure is about to end and now they are trying to call beneficiaries, teachers, etc. at government expenditure. No matter what they do, the youngsters are now looking at Congress,” Pilot said.
State Youth Congress president Ashok Chandna said state’s younger generation has lost faith in the government after they have been cheated in the past four-and-a-half years.
AICC general secretary Avinash Pande, Haryana former chief minister Bhupinder Hooda and state leader of Opposition Rameshwar Dudi were present.
According to National Career Service under the ministry of labour and employment, job-seeker registration in Rajasthan was 8,80,144 till June 30, 2018. The Congress’ promise of Rs 3500 as unemployment allowance would cost around Rs 308 crore.
