On January 10, locals of the village announced an election meeting and a message was sent to all the panchayat villages around Chhapdel requesting their participation.

While the state election commission will officially hold the panchayat election on February 2, the village organized an election meeting on January 11 at Chavanda mata temple to elect one unanimous candidate for the sarpanch seat which is reserved for woman of the general caste.

In the meeting, locals proposed many names and after thorough discussions with the elders of the village, Pramila Kanwar Ranawat, a graduate, was elected for the post.

Notably, she, now, has filed her nomination for the official poll scheduled on February 2.

Addressing the villagers sarpanch Pramila Kanwar said, “I will try to fulfill the wishes of this gram panchayat in my tenure and will focus on overall development.”

Former zila parishad member Kanhaiya Lal Gurjar, Kraya Vikraya Sahkari Samiti president Maheshwar Singh, former BJP unit president Ram Gopal Sharma and sarpanch Ratna Devi Bheel were also present in the meeting.
