  Just playing cricket in general. It’s been a huge privilege and possibly the biggest pleasure of my life.

• Low point in life

  Losing in the World Cup in 2015 semi-finals to New Zealand. It was a close game.

  Piano Man, by Billy Joel. Anything by Elton John and Bruce Springsteen. And Jørgen Dahl Moe’s cover of Dancing in the Dark.

• Today I’m craving

  Sushi.

• Last thing I ordered online

  Freedom of Movement sneakers from South Africa. I got the Springbok edition. And I’m wearing them right now.

  TradingView, for a look at the markets and commodities, and crypto prices.

• Advice I’d give my 18-year-old self

  Don’t change a thing. Keep your feet on the ground, stay humble, work hard. When you fall, get up, come back stronger.

• My favourite subject in school

  Biology. The human body, nature and plants and how everything works and how it was created is fascinating.

• I’d swipe right on

  My wife.

• My secret skill

  Always knowing where North, East, South and West are. I hardly ever get lost.

• A magic tool I wish I had

  The ability to just move from one place to another by the push of a button.

• My favourite Sunday memory

  Treating myself and my family with a good roast or something special, a barbecue or braai, as we call it in South Africa.

• My most starstruck moment

  When I was in my early 20s, I met Shah Rukh Khan. We actually sang a song together in Durban in front of a big crowd. I taught him a song in Afrikaans, and he taught me to sing a song in Hindi.

• If I could travel backward or forward in time

  I’d go into the future, 100 or 200 or 300 years from now for a quick peek at what Earth looks like.

• The best thing about fame

  You get some good favours from people.

• The worst thing about fame

  I’m quite a shy guy who enjoys my own time. And you don’t very often get that in public. So yeah, it can be tough.
