  Blinded by bling

  Heeramandi has predictably gorgeous sets, opulent costumes, magical lighting ...and no plot. The episodes follow courtesans in pre-Independence Lahore, but why is every character just short of being a caricature? Indresh Malik, as the queer but conniving Ustadji, stands out as the realest. And it takes a while to recognise Shekhar Suman, who plays a mighty nawab.

  Waving hello, again

  Imran Khan, everyone’s favourite AWOL actor, is returning to screens. In Vir Das’ directorial debut, Happy Patel, no less. They collaborated on Delhi Belly 13 years ago and it’s been nine years since Khan’s last film, Katti Batti. We’ve been through a pandemic, seen AI rise, given up landlines and switched streaming since. Imran, tell us nothing’s changed!

  Playing it chill

  Khushi Kapoor and Vedang Raina were spotted at Zoya Akhtar’s house recently and we absolutely don’t want to sound like neighbourhood aunties obsessed with pairing up every singleton. Big sis Janhvi, on an episode of Koffee with Karan, did say Khushi would look cute with Vedang. Don’t look directly at the two. You might jinx it.

  Yawning as we listen

  Drake and Kendrick Lamar are at it again. The rappers have been feuding since 2013. Last week, Lamar released his fourth diss track, Not Like Us, aimed at Drake, alleging that he’s a paedophile. Drake’s track, Family Matters, has called out Lamar for being abusive and unfaithful. But this? It’s a serious allegation. Worst Behaviour, Lamar. Laugh Now, Cry Later.
