Ingredients for aam panna popsicle
- Raw mangoes – 500 gms
- Water – 500 ml
- Sugar – 1¼ cup
- Salt – ½ tsp
- Black salt – ½ tsp
- Peppercorns – 6
- Roasted cumin – ¾ tbsp
- Chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Mint leaves – 2 cups
- Green food colour – a drop (optional)
Method of preparation
- To prepare aam panna popsicles, start by washing and peeling the raw mangoes. Cut the mangoes into chunks and remove the seeds.
- In a pressure cooker, combine the mango chunks with water and sugar, and cook them till two to three whistles or until the mangoes are soft and tender.
- Once the mangoes are cooked, allow the mixture to cool. Then, transfer cooked mangoes to a blender along with salt, black salt, peppercorns, roasted cumin, chilli powder, and mint leaves.
- Blend the mixture until smooth and well combined. If desired, add a drop of green food colour for a vibrant hue (optional).
- Pour the blended aam panna mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion. Insert popsicle sticks into each filled mold.
- Place the popsicle molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least four to six hours, or until completely solid.
- Once the aam panna popsicles are frozen, remove them from the molds by running warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds. Gently pull on the sticks to release the popsicles.
- Serve the refreshing aam panna popsicles immediately. The popsicles can also be stored in an airtight container in the freezer and can be enjoyed at leisure over the following days.
