Ramadan, also known as Ramzan, Ramazan or Ramzaan, is the holiest month in Islam and the ninth month of the Islamic calendar which is celebrated by Muslims with much pomp and grandeur. During this period, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and evil thoughts and action from dawn until sunset as they observe a fast between dawn and sunset and then break it with family and friends coming together and eating a meal called iftar. Sehri is the first meal of the day before sunrise and it needs to be planned well to keep your health in check.
Adequate hydration, eating nutrient-dense foods and avoiding high-sugar and calorie-dense foods can help manage diabetes during the fast. Give Ramadan a lip-smacking twist with this recipe of Chocolate Lassi for sehri.
