A vedic astrologer tells HT that Maa Siddhidatri’s spiritual significance centres on recognising your own potential and taking responsibility for your choices.

Sharad Navratri reaches its final day on October 19, 2026, with devotees worshipping Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Goddess Durga. In Hindu tradition, devotees associate her with spiritual attainments, wisdom and the fulfilment of aspirations. But her message can also invite you to reflect on a personal question: do you believe you can shape your future, or do you feel that circumstances always decide what happens to you?

Poonam Dutta, Chief Astrologer at BV Astro, tells Hindustan Times that Maa Siddhidatri’s spiritual significance centres on recognising your own potential and taking responsibility for your choices. Rather than waiting for life to change on its own, you can use the final day of Navratri to examine old beliefs, recognise your limits and take a clear step towards your goals.

Maa Siddhidatri and the spiritual meaning of Day 9

Maa Siddhidatri is traditionally known as the giver of *siddhis*, a Sanskrit term associated with attainments or accomplishments in Hindu spiritual traditions. Her worship marks the culmination of the nine forms of Goddess Durga honoured during Navratri.

Astrologer Poonam Dutta explains that you can begin this reflection by noticing the stories you repeatedly tell yourself. Perhaps you believe that you never receive enough support, that you always face bad luck or that your circumstances will never improve.

You may use this day to ask yourself whether your beliefs reflect your present situation or past experiences. You do not have to ignore genuine difficulties or pretend that every problem lies within your control. Instead, identify what you can influence and what you may need to accept.

Maa Siddhidatri’s message about taking responsibility

The last day of Navratri does not have to mean that your personal journey has reached its end. You may still face uncertainty, delays and circumstances that you cannot change. What matters is how you respond to them.

The astrologer encourages you to recognise the difference between accepting reality and giving up on your own ability to act. You can acknowledge a difficult situation without allowing it to define every decision you make.

In the end of Sharad Navratri, reflect on the qualities you want to carry forward. Self-belief does not mean that everything will work out exactly as you hope. It means giving yourself the chance to learn, make thoughtful choices and keep moving towards what matters to you.
