The vitriolic exchange between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee appears to be continuing.

Speaking at a rally in Serampore in West Bengal, PM Modi responded to the Trinamool chief’s remarks that she would send rosogollas stuffed with mud and pebbles to him. Her remarks came after the PM’s statement in an interview to Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar that the firebrand West Bengal leader often sent him sweets.
Responding to her statement of rosogollas made of mud and pebbles, the PM said, “Didi wants to feed me rosogollas made of mud and pebbles. Rosogollas made of mud on which many legends like Ramkrishna Paramhans, Swami Vivekananda, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Jagdish Chandra Bose, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee have walked. How fortunate I am that she will send me such rosogollas.”

Saying that the rosogollas would be made of the dust of the feet of great men, he said he would be fortunate to consume rosogollas made of the mud that had given birth to such great men. “I will be blessed to get those rosogollas,” he said.

Saying that he would wait for the rosogollas, he said that Didi can stuff the rosogollas with as many pebbles as she likes as it will help reduce the number of stones and pebbles that the TMC goons would use to attack the people of the state.
“Send those stones to me. The citizens of Bengal will not be injured,” he said.
