The son of Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan defeated the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Sudhansu Kumar Bhaskar in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Before Chirag Paswan, the Janata Dal(United) leader Bhudeo Chaudhary held the seat from 2009.
