The victim, Mohammad Monis was reportedly playing outside his house with other children on Tuesday afternoon when Nazim who is in his twenties, lured him into the house of a relative where he killed the boy.

Neighbours informed the police about it, said Devranjan Verma, SP, Pilibhit.

The police team which reached the spot saw a shocking sight.

“The body was lying on the floor with the decapitated head beside it. The skin on the abdomen was missing and internal body parts and bloodstains were scattered across the room,” the police officer said.

Nazim was sitting near the corpse and surrendered to the police without any resistance, he added.

Locals enraged by the murder and cannibalism, manhandled Nazim in front of senior police officials before they intervened to save him.

Based on the complaint lodged by the Monis’s father, police registered an FIR against Nazim under Section 302 (murder), Section 341 (wrongful restraint), 362 (abduction) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
