66-year-old compounder ‘treats’ patients in south Mumbai clinic

The doctor, who owned the clinic, paid the compounder a salary of Rs5,000 a month. He also took 10% share from his daily earnings

A 66-year-old compounder was found checking patients and prescribing medicines to them at a clinic in south Mumbai. The man, who has been working at the clinic for the past 30 years, and the doctor, who owns the clinic, have been booked for cheating and forgery. No arrests have been made so far.

“The doctor posed as a patient. The compounder checked him and also prescribed medicines,” said an officer from Azad Nagar police station.

“The compounder said the doctor would come to the dispensary in the evening, and take 10% share from his earnings. The doctor paid him a salary of Rs5,000 every month,” said Vijay Kadam, senior police inspector, Azad Maidan police station.
