BEST bus driver dies in Mumbai as tree branch falls on him

A BEST bus driver died in Charkop in Mumbai on Friday, after a branch of a mango tree fell on him.

BEST spokesperson said the driver, Sumit Ankush Wagh, 39, was deputed at Gorai depot and worked on route number 245. (HT FILE)

The mishap took place at Thakare Nagar bus station around 7.55am, when he was resting under a tree during his break.

BEST spokesperson said the driver, Sumit Ankush Wagh, 39, was deputed at Gorai depot and worked on route number 245.

He was rushed to a hospital in the vicinity, but he was declared dead on arrival.

“He was rushed to a private hospital, Saraswati Nursing Home,” said BEST spokesperson.
