With each passing day, the bitter electoral war is getting fierce between the warring partners with the CM and Thackeray targeting each other in their campaign rallies for the BMC polls.

Fadnavis, who held three campaign rallies in the western suburbs on Sunday, said, “Only those who have stashed black money overseas are criticising the notes ban because they lost the unaccounted money. But why did Uddhavji choose to stand with them? Was he also among those affected by the demonetisation decision?”

He also alleged that the Shiv Sena was targeting the BJP to escape discussion on scams in the BMC, but voters are clever and know everything.

Refusing to reply to Sena’s criticism, Fadnavis said the party is answerable to voters for various civic scams, including that of desilting, octroi, dumping ground and road repairs. He thanked the Sena for not forming an alliance as the BJP will be voted to power in the BMC.

“Our ally (Shiv Sena) has joined hands with the Congress in one district, while has an understanding with the NCP in another district. Ironically, the party is planning to join hands with those against whom Balasaheb Thackeray had fought throughout his life,” chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said.

His comments came in the wake of Uddhav’s praise for the Congress governments.

The Sena had said the Congress government might have been corrupt, but to say that it only indulged in scams and didn’t bring about any development is wrong.

“But if the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) says that, everyone should accept it as the truth or else they will be called deshdrohis (traitors),” the Sena had said in its mouthpiece Saamana .
