Sheena Bora murder case: Peter knew about the conspiracy, says CBI

Former media mogul Indrani Mukerjea made a call to her husband Peter from Raigad after killing her daughter Sheena Bora, accused-turned approver Shyamvar Rai told the police in April .

Shyamvar Rai, who was the Mukerjeas’ driver, gave the police a detailed account of how Indrani, along with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, conspired to eliminate Sheena, and how the three of them executed the plot

Rai, who was the Mukerjeas’ driver, stated in a two-page statement that when he had taken Indrani to Raigad to search for a place to dispose of Sheena and Mikhail’s body, Indrani had called Peter and said ‘it is a good place’.

Rai said she was talking to Peter in English and he could not understand much of it because he was driving. This is the first time Rai has named Peter, linking him to the conspiracy.

Rai gave the police a detailed account of how Indrani, along with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, conspired to eliminate Sheena , and how the three of them executed the plot.

In his confession, recorded in Hindi, Rai said Indrani contacted him towards the end of March 2012, through her personal assistant, Kajal Sharma. He said Indrani had spoken to him on Skype and revealed her plans to eliminate her two children – Sheena and Mikhail. Indrani told Rai that she trusted him a lot and that he should not tell anyone about the plan. Indrani also assured him she would take care of his children’s education and his family’s medical needs, Rai told the police.

Rai’s statement also described how furious Indrani was with Sheena after the murder, when Indrani asked him to move towards hotel Taj Lands End in Bandra. “Indrani madam mujhe boli hotel Taj lands le lo aur mujhe boli thi 3 BHK flat Sheena ko mil gaya. Indrani Madam Sheena ke muh ke upar baith gaye (Indrani madam asked me to drive towards Hotel Taj Lands End, and said Sheena has got her 3BHK flat and then sat on her daughter’s face),” he said in the confession.
