Starting chopper services at the University of Mumbai’s Kalina campus got a step closer to reality with a trial run on March 28. Pawan Hans officials confirmed that two choppers will be operating from the Kalina campus on Tuesday and accommodate 16 students together. The first ride, which is a demo, was done free of cost.

“This will be a demo ride to understand the logistics and feasibility of such a service. It will help us find out how to make this a regular feature, along with the necessary permissions,” said Sanjay Kumar, general manager (West) Pawan Hans on Monday. He added that as of now, the details, including the cost per ride and other logistics, has not been decided .
MU spokesperson told HT, “This is the first time that a university is introducing such a feature for their students and we are very excited about it.”
