Former home minister RR Patil, who is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Lilavati hospital in Bandra, is reported to be in critical condition.

Sources at the hospital said Patil is on ventilator support. Patil, 57, has been admitted to the hospital for the past two weeks. “He was initially kept in a private room and was later shifted to the ICU, after his condition worsened,” said a doctor from the hospital.
On Monday, Patil was shifted to the ICU, said hospital sources.
Many senior officials from the Nationalist Congress Party, including its chief Sharad Pawar, paid a visit to the senior leader.
In December, Patil was admitted to Bombay Hospital, Marine Lines, after he complained of severe chest pain. Doctors said he had a heart attack and was treated accordingly. Earlier in November, Patil had undergone a surgery at Breach Candy Hospital, where he was admitted under the care of an oncologist.
