Oscar-winning singer Adele has spoken out against the pressure to breastfeed. She did at a gig in London. The topic has been in the news after celebrity chef Jamie Oliver told LBC Radio that the country had a “problem” with women not breastfeeding, reported Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s ridiculous. Because it’s hard. Some of us can’t do it. I managed about nine weeks. I mean, I loved (using formula).

“All I wanted to do was breastfeed and then I couldn’t. I felt like, if I was in the jungle back in the day, my kid would be dead because my milk’s gone,” Adele said.

The singer had a word of advice for new mothers however. She said they should feed their children in whatever way they can — and not to feel guilty if breastfeeding isn’t a viable option. (The American Academy of Pediatrics and Britain’s NHS recommend breastfeeding exclusively for six months. But, as many moms have pointed out, this isn’t always physically feasible.)
