Singer-composer Dahek feels that recording a video and releasing it on YouTube is a fad which is making the independent music scene crowded.

Singer-composer Dahek is happy with the response his new single Tu Kya Jaane has been getting. The song is special to him because, “it’s an attempt to break away from the party songs genre with this romantic number”. The Delhi-based singer is trying to make music that’ll stand out in the “noise”.

“Since uploading a song on YouTube doesn’t take much, everyone who has a video camera thinks they are singers. This has become a fad, every other guy who can speak a few Punjabi lines is a rapper and an independent artiste. The independent music scene has become overcrowded, full of noise in the name of music. Someone even buy ‘clicks’ and ‘views’, some of the established ones also, I would not do that, that is not having faith in your own ability. But the good part is, only talented ones go far,” says the Daddy Karde Case singer.
