Deepika Attri ranked 157 among all candidates from across the state, as per the results released on Monday. Her family members were also elated as Attri was able to secure a top rank in her first attempt.

Attri is a resident of Khajpur, a hamlet in Jewar tehsil of Gautam Budh Nagar. Her father Samayveer Singh (50) is a farmer in Khajpur, who retired from the Indian Army.

Born and brought up in Khajpur, Attri completed her primary education from Shriram Model Inter College in Jewar and her BA from MMH college, Ghaziabad in 2012. She completed her LLB course from Law Faculty, Delhi University, in 2015.

Crediting her father for her success, Attri further said her father kept motivating her to pursue her studies.

Attri said it took her two years to prepare for the judiciary services examination. She stressed the importance of focusing on the correct attitude required by aspirants.

“I would like to say that hard work and honesty to oneself is extremely necessary (for an aspirant). He/she must have a clear intent to assist the judiciary and ensure that justice will be done, if and when they take charge,” said Attri.

Commenting on the state of Indian judiciary, Attri said that need of the hour is to implement laws in its fairest sense.

“Whatever case I encounter in the future, I will make sure that I do justice, in all its fairness, when I have ample evidence and facts. The responsibility to deliver justice lies on the shoulder of judges,” said Attri.

“I hope other girls from my tehsil and village get encouraged and join the civil services and judiciary. My younger sister, Deep Chaudhary, is also preparing for civil services,” said Attri.

Jewar MLA Thakur Dhirendra Singh also congratulated Attri for her feat and said that she has made the tehsil proud. “Heartiest congratulations to Deepika for her achievement. You have made us proud. Good Luck!(sic),” Singh wrote on Twitter.
