A 24-year-old woman who was allegedly thrown off the fourth floor of a building by her husband in Ghari Chaukhandi area of Sector 122 a week ago died on Saturday evening.

Family members said the woman, Babita, had sustained severe head injuries and was undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi. They said that her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination and will be handed over to them on Sunday morning for last rites.
The woman had regained consciousness in this past week, but her condition deteriorated on Saturday at 2:30pm and she passed away at 4pm, her family said. Police have already arrested her 26-year-old husband Amar Singh after Babita recorded a statement saying that she was thrown off the roof by him.
Babita, who was three months pregnant, is survived by an eight-month-old daughter Angel who is with her maternal uncle now. In her statement, Babita had told the police that her husband took her to the roof and pushed her from the fourth floor on June 3 around 11pm.
Her family members, who live in Bulandshahr, were informed by Singh that she has been thrown off the roof by a ‘ghost’.

{{/usCountry}}Zaheer Khan, station house officer (SHO), Phase 3 police station, said, “We had registered a case of attempt to murder on the basis of her brother’s complaint. Later, we recorded Babita’s statement and Singh was sent to judicial custody.”
