Jeev, who made the cut last month at the British Open, had three birdies, three bogeys and two double bogeys in a roller-coaster of a round.

He opened with a birdie on first, but gave away a double on the very next par-5 second. Another bogey on fourth followed by a birdie on seventh saw him turn in one-over 37. On the back nine, he birdied the tenth to come to par, but then gave away bogeys on 13th and 15th and made it worse with a double on yet another par-5 16th.

From Asian point of view, Korean K J Choi made a spirited start in the opening round of the PGA Championship with a three-under-par 69 on Thursday.
