PHOTOS: Opera Gloriosa premiers at Cathedral Steps Open Air festival in Erfurt, Germany
Choir members sang during the rehearsal of the Cathedral Steps open air festival (Domstufen-Festspiele) in front of Mariendom (Cathedral of Mary) and St. Severi's Church in Erfurt, Germany on Wednesday, in preparation for the premiere of "Opera Gloriosa," an Italian evening of famous opera music, which was scheduled for Friday. Due to the corona pandemic, the festival will take place in a smaller form this year. With health, safety and social distancing measures in place, the audience capacity which is usually 2000 visitors was drastically dropped to 500. The orchestra musicians sat under and were separated from each other by acrylic panes. Giuseppe Verdi's 'Nabucco' was planned to be performed. The festival will continue till August 2.
