“It’s all about sticking to a classic silhouette, but giving a ­contemporary twist to it — modern yet wearable. When designing the rib cut-out blazer, the idea was to give the narrowest body part emphasis," designer Nikhil Thampi says.

While the sneaky cut-outs are making a big noise, they can be tricky to pull off. “It’s not only about being in shape, but depends on how body confident you are. It’s about finding the right balance of being a tease, and still looking sophisticated,” says designer Gaurav Gupta.

If not peeping at the corners, designer Anupama Dayal suggests that cut-outs could also find other fun outlets. “Apart from the back and keyhole cuts at the bosom, cut-outs at the sleeves are super cute and fun to carry off,” she says.
